Sydney Regency Weekends presents A Regency Ball in Melrose Hall; a costumed Regency Ball to be held in Emu Plains ideally situated between Sydney and the Blue Mountains in the picturesque Melrose Hall.

Saturday 3rd October 6pm-10pm

12-3pm Afternoon workshop (optional, additional cost)
5:30pm doors open

6:00pm SHARP Grand March commences with supper provided later in the evening

DRESS CODE

Evening attire suitable for the Regency era (1790s-1820s)

DANCING

The program will suit beginners to experienced dancers and will be called & briefly walked through on the night by David Potter & friends.

If you are a novice we recommend attending some workshops:

  • 1st Saturday each month, held by Sydney Regency Weekends at Concord Presbyterian Church Hall, 12- 3pm (featuring live music)
  • 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month held by Sydney English Country Dancers at 9 Wellbank Street Concord, 1:30 – 4:30pm
  • Wednesday evenings during school terms held by Blue Mountains Heritage Dance Group Inc at Lawson Mechanics Hall, 7pm-9.30pm (sessions include Bush, English Country & Contra dancing)

WORKSHOP

An optional afternoon workshop is available this year on the afternoon of the ball for those new to English Country Dancing or those that want to brush up on their skills.

LIVE MUSIC

Live music will be provided during the ball by the Short Dented Potts who bring with them a wealth of experience & enthusiasm to the night’s music.

A Regency Affair at Exeter Village

15, 16 & 17 May 2026

Sydney Regency Weekends are proud to presents the fifth annual A Regency Affair at Exeter Village; a costumed Regency weekend held in the heart of the Southern Highlands at the historic Exeter Village Hall. All the delights of a weekend in the country, with dance classes, a ball on the Saturday night, and with indoor and outdoor workshops and activities for all.

INCLUDED IN YOUR TICKET:

  • Lunches, morning and afternoon teas, an opening dinner on Friday night and pre-ball dinner on Saturday will be provided, with as much care for special diets as possible;
  • Dance workshops for all experience levels and a Regency Ball on Saturday night;
  • A very special visit to nearby private National Trust property with a magnificent garden for our Sunday picnic;
  • Guest speakers on a range of topics to interest all attendees.

ADDITIONAL COST:

  • a small partial fee for materials for any craft workshops you may choose to enrol in (to be announced closer to the event);
  • a small partial fee towards the outdoor activities you may wish to enrol in;
  • a plate of food to share for the Supper during the Ball.
