A Regency Affair at Exeter Village

May 17th, 18th & 19th 2024  

Sydney Regency Weekends are proud to presents the third annual A Regency Affair at Exeter Village; a costumed Regency weekend held in the heart of the Southern Highlands at the historic Exeter Village Hall. All the delights of a weekend in the country, with dance classes, a ball on the Saturday night, and with indoor and outdoor workshops and activities for all.

INCLUDED IN YOUR TICKET:

  • Lunches, morning and afternoon teas, an opening dinner on Friday night and pre-ball dinner on Saturday will be provided, with as much care for special diets as possible;
  • Dance workshops for all experience levels & a Regency Ball on Saturday night;
  • A very special visit to nearby private National Trust property with a magnificent garden for our Sunday picnic;
  • Guest speakers on a range of topics to interest all attendees.

ADDITIONAL COST:

  • Materials for any craft workshops you may choose to enrol in (to be announced closer to the event);
  • a small partial fee towards the outdoor activities you may wish to enrol in.

A Regency Ball in Lawson Village

September 24 2022, 7pm-11pm  

Sydney Regency Weekends presents A Regency Ball in Lawson Village; a costumed Regency Ball to be held in the heart of the Blue Mountains at the historic Lawson Mechanics Institute hall.

The Grand March commences at 7:30pm with supper provided later in the evening.

DRESS CODE

Evening attire suitable for the Regency era (1790s-1820s).

TICKETS

$40 per person (children under 12 free)

DANCING

The program will suit beginners to experienced dancers and will be called & briefly walked through on the night by David Potter.

If you are a novice we recommend attending some Saturday workshops held by Sydney English Country Dancers in either:

North Sydney (2nd Saturday of the month, 2-4:30pm at 181 Blues Point Rd, North Sydney 2-4:30pm, St Peter’s Presbyterian School Hall), or

Concord (4th Saturday, 12-2:30pm at 182 Concord Rd, North Strathfield, St Stephen’s Concord Presbyterian Church Hall). Please email Christine Miller for more details.

Or alternately Bush Dance sessions at Lawson Mechanics Hall on Wednesday evenings 7.30-9.30 during school terms.

LIVE MUSIC

Live music will be provided during the ball by the Short Dented Potts who bring with them a wealth of experience & enthusiasm to the night’s music.

A Regency Affair at Exeter Village

All the delights of a weekend in the country, but as a trip back in time to the early 1800s. Join us for a costumed Regency weekend, with dance classes, and a ball on the Saturday night as well as a country dance on the Sunday afternoon. Indoor and outdoor activities with ladies, gentlemen and children catered for. Lunches, morning and afternoon teas, and dinner on Saturday will be provided, with as much care for special diets as possible.

A visit to an historic mansion and garden maze, a promenade and a picnic are all part of the fun. Places limited.
